Hi! I’m Anchen Terblanche, and I’m thrilled to connect with you.
I studied in Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth) where I earned a BPsych Counselling degree from NMU in 2019. I recently also completed a MA in Psychology by dissertation at NMU focusing on food addiction as well as a Diploma in Bereavement Counselling at the Blackford Centre in 2023. My passion for fostering healthy relationships led me to train further in Imago relationship facilitation, a journey I’m excited to continue under the supervision of Imago Africa Relationship Specialists. As a RC, I hold registrations with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF).
I spent 6 enriching months as an intern at the Student Counselling Career and Development Centre at NMU. This experience strengthened my skills in individual counseling, and also allowed me to dive into career assessment and guidance, interactive workshops, and impactful outreach programs. During my free time as a student, I’ve volunteered with various NPO’s, each experience touching me in its own unique way. During 2022 and 2023 I ran my private practice full time in Newcastle, KZN where I saw individuals and couples face to face. In December 2023 I’ve relocated back to Gqeberha to pursue reaching more people who need counseling services and to reconnect with my favorite NPO’s.
I take pride in my ability to connect with individuals from diverse walks of life. I’m committed to offering affordable short-term online counseling to adult individuals.
Your journey matters to me, and I look forward to walking alongside you. Feel free to reach out – I can’t wait to hear from you. Let’s embark on this journey of growth and transformation together.
NOTE: MEDICAL AIDS
I currently work with medical aids under the medscheme umbrella (e.g. Bonitas, Fedhealth, POLMED, Barloworld Medical Scheme, SABC Medical Scheme, Parmed Medical Aid Scheme, MBMED Medical Aid Fund, AECI Medical Aid Society, Horizon Medical Scheme).
I also work with GEMS, Discovery, Medihelp and Momentum.
Please note that some medical aids like GEMS and Discovery need a doctor’s referral for you to be able to claim back from them. Also please enquire from your medical aid to make sure they cover you for sessions with a Registered Counsellor (RC) as not all the plans under these medical aids cover our sessions. Some medical aids only cover a certain number of sessions. Enquire from your sheme what their terms and conditions are for covering counselling sessions so that when you claim back from them there are no unpleasant surprises.
